Stop Feeling Like a Fraud in Your Own Life

Imposter Syndrome is real and affects more people than you may think. Millions of people walk around feeling like their achievements aren’t real, that they don’t deserve any success they’ve found in life and that the world will find out they’re a fraud.

Guess what? You don’t have to live like that!

What’s the Secret?

The secret is, that no one cares. That probably sounds harsh, but it’s true. No one is sitting at home thinking about how you don’t deserve what you’ve accomplished in life. Not a soul cares that you got a prestigious award a work. The truth is, no one is thinking about you at all.

Sorry, but it’s true. People are too wrapped up in their existence to spend time thinking of others. Most people are indeed out of sight, out of mind types of thinkers.

This isn’t to say that no one cares about you. You have a partner, friends, family, and a dog who think the absolute world of you. But the people who you are worried about finding out you’re a fraud don’t have you on their minds. Everyone else knows you’re the real deal.

The Only Person That Matters

In reality, if you keep having this feeling in your brain, you will set yourself up to fail. You will inevitably psych yourself out and drop the ball somewhere. You’ll most likely end up completely fine, but you’re going to spiral.

This is only a warning that what you feel can manifest into something real.

So why not believe that you’re a stone-cold killer? Why not believe that you will close on the biggest real estate deal of your career? Why not believe that you’re the most qualified person for the job? People will notice that kind of energy and naturally look to you as a leader.

It’s Okay to Fail

Failure has come up a lot in this article because it’s a reality. There’s not one person on Earth who hasn’t failed at something. It could be something super small, like not being able to do a pull-up in fifth grade to botching a presentation at work. It happens! But that’s life. And the sooner you realize that failure will find you, the sooner you’ll realize that you’ll be okay.

That’s the best part. You will be okay! Life will go on, and you’ll ace it next time. The sooner you recognize what you’re capable of, the sooner you might start believing in yourself.
