Fall in Love With Yourself

In a world of social media and influencers, it’s easy to fall out of life with yourself. Maybe you don’t hate yourself, but you’re not giving yourself the love you deserve.

It’s easy to lose the love of your life: you. Constantly comparing yourself to others, not hitting a fitness goal, or feeling blah about yourself can influence every other aspect of your life.

Why should anyone else be if you’re not in your life with yourself? If you don’t think you’re the right person to get promoted at work, why should your boss? The love you feel for yourself shows in everything you do. It’s time to feel the love for yourself again!

Treat Yourself

That’s right. Take yourself out for a romantic dinner. Having some alone time can do wonders for your psyche. You’ll be able to choose where you want to go, what you want for dinner, and do something that you may not want to share with someone else.

Want to go see that dorky rom-com you’re embarrassed to tell your coworkers you’re dying to see? Buy yourself a ticket. You’ll find yourself having the most fun when you aren’t trying to impress anybody.

Cleanse Yourself of Social Media

Take a social media break. There is nothing more toxic than comparing yourself to someone else’s beauty standards. Who cares about someone else’s dream vacation. Stop living in their world and return to yours.

Not only will you enjoy the real world around you, but you might also find relief in just existing. Put down the phone and savor that dinner you bought for yourself. Pick up a box instead of scrolling Instagram. You’ll find yourself more refreshed and better read.

Make Time For Yourself

If you find yourself on a Friday with no idea what happened this week, you overextended yourself for other people. Maybe work was hectic, or your sister had a bad breakup. While those will always be important, so are you.

Give yourself a few hours a week for yourself. If you love going to a cycling class but find yourself pressed for time, squeeze in one over your lunch break. Take a night to make yourself dinner and turn off your notifications. Everyone else will survive, promise.

Finding the time to recenter your life around you will make you fall back in love with yourself and appreciate the other relationships in your life. Who wouldn’t want to love someone who loves themselves?
